Loutra Gialtron - Bania
the spa seaside resort Banja (baths) is the local name for the Loutra, or hot springs. In the center of the beach, directly below Angeliki's taverna,
the hot waters gush out into the sea.
The first name of region, which today we name Baths, was "Atheneum" and took this name from the Athenians that, afterwards the destruction of Athens, moved to this region.
In our days Bania grace in the taste, the hospitality of its residents and the modern comforts that offers, continues attracting the tourists. Mainly during the summer months, the place get very busy. During the summer vacations, the inhabitants of the village move down to their second homes; where you can find easily accomotations. There are numerous restaurants, cafes and tavernas along the seaside road.
